Ephesians Session 8
The standards of God's Community
You can listen to Sam Donoghue
here
as he unpacks Ephesians 4-5 for us.
Sam drew out the experience of the Ephesian Christians as they faced the reality that in the absence of an imminent return of Jesus, Paul helped them to see the need for a distinctive contrast in life and behaviour to that in the world around them
Three specific contrasts can be seen
1. The Christian community was identifiable as a place you would want to be. It would look feel and even'smell' different.
2. This community would also be marked by its self sacrificial love
3. Paul finally contrasts the futility of the worlds behaviour with the focused joy of those following Christ.
